Jack & his airplanes

Jack is completely obsessed with airplanes and helicopters lately - I have no idea where the obsession came from though! Shane has built the boys their own barns, stalls - tractor bunk beds --- everything. And out of nowhere - Jack decides that planes are the most exciting things in his life!

Yesterday during nap time - Jack & I were NOT sleeping and so we went into town to go vaccum my vehicle out. While we were there - an airplane flew over really low & very loud! Jack was so amazed by it - so I told him we'd drive over to the PoDunk Airport & see if we could spot that plane. Having lived in this valley for a total of 10+ years now, I've never been to its lovely small town airport before yesterday.

We drove over & there was a helicopter just getting ready to take off - Jack was so fidgety and jumping all over the place just watching it! We went over to the "pilots lounge" and there was a lady in there that let Jack go into the hanger and look at the planes that were parked in there. She gave him some brochures and said they do little group tours if we wanted to come back again. I asked her if being a mother of four boys qualified as a group tour!
THEN --- she proceeds to tell Jack that if he wants to, he is big enough to go on one of the planes with a pilot and fly around!!!!

AFTERWARDS - she mentions to me that they do allow kids to go with a parent & a pilot for 1/2 hour of flying time around the valley, for the low low cost of $100~?~?~?~?

Really?!!??!

Needless to say - he has NOT stopped talking about it since then. He even woke up at 3:30 this morning asking me if it was time to go see HIS airplane.
