Now before anyone gets all bent out of shape ---- I feel 100% justified in making comments about chubby people at the gym .... because I AM ONE OF THEM!!! I've been struggling with this horrible justification I have where I'll mentally think "I went and worked out today...it'll be fine if I accidentally eat this whole handful of M&Ms..." ~ something like that. SO.... yesterday I went to the PF where I work out & I was able to go a little bit later because Shane is on Spring Break from school & work this week! So I dont have to get up as early since there are three less people to have to get ready! Anywhooters - yesterday I went at 6:45ish and its all different people there. Well, I'm on the eliptical -- doing my thing on level 12 --- working up some early morning sweat (Yummmmmmmmmmy....and the visual now is just amazing!) SUDDENLY - I hear this tremendous THUDDING noise on one of the treadmills from the back row. I mean - it was pretty loud.
*Side note* for those of you who don't already know this, I am a very competitive person. This can mean that I always have to win and also that I always have to be right.... keep this in mind.....
I look back as casually as a fat girl on an eliptical can & I see this pretty large "kid" totally running his guts out on the treadmill. Now - I watch Biggest Loser religiously & I've even tried to be on the show! This kid (younger looking guy....) was straight off a scene from that show (the night before). He didn't appear like he should/would/could be able to run at ALL!!!! So I'm huffing & puffing on the eliptical thinking "If THAT guy can run on a treadmill ---- there is NO WAY I'm going to let him show me up and I'm going to HAVE to go show him who's boss" I bypass the "cool down" phase of my workout & head straight to the treadmill row - picking one a few away from him. The downside is that I couldn't what speed he was running at and he WAS quite a bit shorter then me....
Lets just say that 3 heart attacks and a round of emphysema later - I totally had to quit! I could NOT breath and my knees were KILLING ME! When I finally recovered enough to leave the facilities...I looked back --- and there was the chubby guy....still running.
CURSES!!!!!
